La Ladakh — About us Leh, Ladakh · 34.15° N, 77.58° E In Leh it’s —

Ladakh, by the people who live here.

༡Who we are01 / 05

We grew up within a day’s drive of the places we’ll take you.

La Ladakh is a travel company run from Leh. Our guides, drivers and hosts are Ladakhi. They know which passes open first in spring, which homestay kitchens make the best skyu, and what time the monks at Thiksey gather for morning prayers.

We plan private and small-group trips across Leh, Nubra, Pangong, Tso Moriri and Zanskar. Some are slow monastery circuits; others are high treks, wildlife trips or motorcycle routes. Each one is put together for the people travelling, not copied from a brochure.

Elevation of a Ladakhi gompa: sloping whitewashed walls, black window frames, the maroon twig frieze under the roof.
༢Where we go02 / 05

From 3,144 to 5,360 metres above the sea.

Seven places on our routes, from the warm floor of the Nubra valley to the high road passes. Choose a point to see how we travel it.

༣How we work03 / 05
༡01

Local people, start to finish

Your guide, driver and hosts are from here. They know the roads, the weather and the families you’ll stay with.

༢02

Planned around you

We start with how you like to travel, then fit the route, pace and places to stay to that. Private or small group.

༣03

Altitude comes first

Easy first days in Leh, gradual climbs, and inner line permits arranged before you arrive.

༤04

The money stays here

We use family homestays, village guides and local kitchens wherever we can.

༥When to come05 / 05

Every season has its trip.
